William Wallace (Braveheart)

William Wallace, depicted in the movie "Braveheart," was a Scottish knight who became a central figure in Scotland's First War of Independence against England in the late 13th century. His leadership and military prowess inspired the Scottish clans to unite against English rule, culminating in the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297, where the Scots achieved a remarkable victory. Although Wallace was eventually captured and executed by the English, his legacy as a symbol of Scottish resistance and independence endured. He remains an iconic figure in Scottish history, representing the spirit of freedom and defiance against oppression.
